Clik here to view.After suffering three postponements, the 2016 Appropriation Bill was passed by the Senate on Wednesday.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who presided over the Senate proceeding, said it is now left for the Executive to implement the budget.
President Muhammad Buhari had on December 22, 2015 presented a budget proposal of N6.08 trillion to the National Assembly.
But senators today, approved a total of N6.060 trillion, comprising N1.587trn capital expenditure of the budget and the recurrent expenditure of N2.646.3trn.
The sum of N351.37bn was approved for statutory transfers, N1.475.3trn for Debt Service, and N2.2trn for Fiscal deficit.
Saraki assured that Senate will play its own part by ensuring monitoring through effective oversight and also amend laws like the Public Procurement Act, 2007.
