Samaila Saidu SambawaA former Minister of Sports during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, Samaila Sambawa, on Sunday denied reports that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.

He said he would not bow to any amount of inducement aimed at luring him out of the party.

Sambawa made his position known in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja.

The former minister said he remained committed to working for success of the PDP in the forthcoming general elections, adding that he did not have any reason to ditch a political party that created a platform upon which he has tested and enjoyed the support of his political followers.

The statement read, “I want to make it categorically clear that I remain a law abiding and committed member of the PDP and I will work assiduously for the success of the party in the general elections of 2015.

“I want to use this opportunity to put to rest all speculations in the media that I had deserted the PDP.

“I assure party faithful that no amount of pressure and inducement will lure me away from being with you in the PDP family.

“I therefore, call on all of you, my supporters, to use your vote to ensure the victory and success of the PDP at all levels in the forthcoming elections.

“I wish to seize this opportunity to thank my numerous supporters in and outside our party from within and outside Kebbi State for their overwhelming show of support, solidarity, love and brotherhood since I joined the party at infancy”.
