In a bid to ensure the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State goes into the 2015 general elections a formidable force, the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Nyesom Wike, on Christmas Day, reconciled with nine aggrieved governorship aspirants, with the aspirants pledging to work for the victory of the party in 2015.
The reconciliation meeting took place at Le Meridien Hotel, Port Harcourt, in the presence of the State PDP Chairman, Felix Obuah; Minister of Sports, Dr Tammy Danagogo and Senator George Sekibo. These leaders signed the communiqué alongside the governorship candidate and the nine aspirants.
Earlier, Wike, who is the presidency’s favorite for the governorship of the state, had reconciled with six other aspirants, bringing the number of aspirants who have resolved to work for the PDP to 15 out of the 24, who bought forms and were cleared to contest the December 8, 2014 PDP governorship primary in Rivers State.
The governorship aspirants who resolved to work with the governorship candidate at the meeting in the overall interest of the PDP include; Professor Don Baridon, Mr Ben Dimpka, Professor Israel Owate, Mr Siha Ofonyi, Mr Richard Victor, Engineer Beks Dagogo Jack, Mr Nimi Wilson-Jack, B.D Esale and Mr Dennis Oseleye Ojuta.
