Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday asked journalists practicing in the state to criticize his government without fear or favour.
He made the call in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, through his Special Assistant on Information, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, on the election day of new officers of the State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists.
Fayose, who pleaded that his government be criticized “constructively” rather than “destructively”, added that he was not unmindful of the critical roles played across the globe by journalists and would not do anything to undermine such roles.
He promised that his government would provide the enabling environment for journalism and journalists to thrive in the state despite the current challenges facing the new administration.
