Chaos In Court As Fayose’s Thugs Beat Judge To Stupor In Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose is in the middle of a fresh controversy as he allegedly ordered thugs to assault a judge, Justice John Adeyeye for being rude to him.

The Ekiti State Governorship Election petition Tribunal sitting scheduled for Thursday could not hold at the High court, Ado-Ekiti, as workers scampered for safety after the thugs took over the premises.

A similar occurrence on Monday has been blamed on Fayose by victims, as suspected political thugs stormed the Ekiti state High Court sitting at Ado-Ekiti to disrupt the court session in the ongoing suit challenging his eligibility to vie for the office of the State Governor which he contested and purportedly won on June 21,2014.

Justice Adeyeye of High Court 3, who was angered by the large number of thugs that thronged the court promises on Thursday morning urged Fayose to direct “his supporters” to keep their distance from the court premises.

Witnesses allege that Fayose, apparently miffed by the judge’s request not only shouted him down, but also slapped him and ordered the thugs to beat him up.

The court premises had since been shut down by judicial workers and court proceedings stalled for hours before the police dispersed the crowd still hanging around the premises with tear gas.

Justice Adeyeye, who was said to have been beaten by about 20 thugs is presently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ado-Ekiti.
