The sole-financier of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West, Prince Buruji Kashamu has vowed that the party would ‘chase out’ governors in the region on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Kashamu made this known on Friday at Atan, Ijebu North East Local Government Area of Ogun State, while receiving 1, 500 defectors to the PDP.
According him, the APC-led government in his home state of Ogun, as well as in other parts of the zone, had disappointed the people.
His words: “the people can see clearly that there is no other party better than the national party which is PDP. I am proud to associate with PDP and I can tell you today authoritatively whether they like it or not, we will chase out not only Amosun in Ogun State but the other APC governors in the whole South-West.
“We are set in PDP to take over the South-West. I trust you, I believe in you. You believe in action. You believe in struggle. You want honest people. You know for sure when you are looking for action, there are plenty actions in PDP”.
Kashamu, who is Chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the PDP, reiterated his earlier stand that he was not eyeing any position in the party, but only interested in its progress.
The defectors, who were led by one Alhaji Monsur Akibu, said they dumped APC for PDP because of alleged unfulfilled promises of the party.
“I along with my group have laboured in vain for the progress of the party, but we are disappointed at what the leadership of APC has done to us”, Akibu lamented.
