The umbrella body of Ijaw youths worldwide, Ijaw Youths Congress, IYC, has risen in stout defence of the embattled Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is currently in the spotlight following recent revelations by that she allegedly squandered N10 billion on the charter and maintenance of a Challenger 850 jet for unofficial use in the last two years.
The group alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan was the ultimate target of the probe by the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives.
President of the group, Udengs Eradiri, in a statement, stressed that the probe set up by the House in respect of the allegation was a misguided venture promoted by political interests.
