The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara State on Thursday accused President Goodluck Jonathan of plotting to remove the former governor now Chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki as a member representing Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The party’s allegation follows its previous warning to President Jonathan not to attempt to play god by arm-twisting the judiciary or using any illegal means to reclaim what he said was the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s “stolen mandate” in Kwara.
The state Interim Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari in a statement on Thursday in Ilorin, urged Mr. Jonathan not to indulge in such an act. He also called on lovers of democracy to advise the Presidency and the ruling PDP to stop alleged further attempts at undermining the nation’s democracy.
“Information gathered from close associates and a reliable source in the presidency, is to the effect that, the Presidency is desperately in search of a Judge who will be heavily induced and compromises to remove Senator Bukola Saraki from the National Assembly as a Senator of the Federal Republic.
“Any attempt by anyone to remove Senator Bukola Saraki through an illegal monetary intervention and or judicial influence will not only have grave consequences but also face a widespread repercussion. Nigerians are watching”, he said.
