PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN ACKNOWLEDGING CHEERS ON HIS ARIVAL FOR THE NORTH CENTRAL PDP ZONAL RALLY IN MINNA ON SATURDAY (8/3/14).
President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday predicted victory for the Peoples Democratic Party in all the North-Central states during the 2015 general elections.
He also promised to win back Kwara State, where Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, has defected from PDP to the opposition All Progressives Congress.
PDP controls all the North-Central states except Kwara and Nasarawa.
The President said although Kwara state in particular belonged to the PDP, some people had “surreptitiously” taken the mandate elsewhere, in veiled reference to the former governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Ahmed’s decision to dump the ruling party for APC.
Jonathan made this known at the PDP North-Central solidarity/unity rally, which held at the Trade Fair Complex, Minna, Niger State.
While also promising to retrieve Nasarawa, which was a PDP-controlled state until 2011 when the APC candidate, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura defeated the incumbent, the president said the kind of crisis currently bedeviling the state was not there when the party was in charge.
He said, “Today, we are in the North-Central and we can say boldly that we will retain Niger State come 2015, no shaking. PDP will retain Kogi State, no shaking. PDP will retain Benue State, no shaking. PDP will retain Plateau State, no shaking.
“PDP will surely recover Kwara State. We won that state and some people have surreptitiously taken the state somewhere, as they are changing from one colour to the other like chameleons. PDP will surely take over, recover and reconstruct Kwara State, no shaking.
“PDP will surely recover, reconstruct and rebuild Nasarawa State. When PDP ruled Nasarawa State, there was no crisis in the state”.
