The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State has urged the Federal Government to strip associates of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who are occupying some strategic and sensitive offices in the government, of their positions.
In a statement issued yesterday by the Publicity Secretary of Ogun PDP, Waliu Oladipupo, the party said: “Although a good number of them have turned down the former President’s directive that they join the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, they cannot continue to hold sensitive board appointments in a PDP-led Federal Government and be working against the interest of the party”.
The party appealed to its national leadership and the Federal Government to withdraw all the goodwill and patronage that had hitherto accrued to “Obasanjo and his associates”, courtesy of the PDP-led Federal Government, adding that, “To do otherwise would be tantamount to arming your opponents”.
